This Privacy Policy explains what information WE Tools Kit ("we", "us"), operated by WE Services, collects when you use this website and how it is used. By using the website you agree to this policy.
Files and text you use in our tools
Most of our tools run entirely in your web browser. When you use them, the text you type and the files you choose are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to our servers.
If a tool ever needs to process a file on our server, the tool page will say so. Such files are stored temporarily under a random name, used only to produce your result and then deleted automatically, normally within one hour. We do not look at, share or keep copies of your files.
Information we collect
- Tool requests. If you submit the Request a Tool form we store the tool name and description you enter, and your email address only if you choose to give it. We use your email only to tell you about your request.
- Search terms. We record the words typed into our site search, together with whether any tool was found, so we can see which tools people need. These records are anonymous and are not linked to you.
- Security data. To prevent spam and abuse we keep a one-way hashed (scrambled) form of your IP address for a short time. We cannot read your real IP address from it.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as browser type and time of visit) for security and reliability.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details. Ordinary visitors do not need any login cookie to use our tools.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are visited most. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and pages visited. You can learn more on Google's page "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" and opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
We may show advertisements provided by Google AdSense and other advertising partners to keep the website free.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
How we use information
We use information only to operate and improve the website, answer your messages and requests, prevent abuse and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
Tool requests are kept while they are useful for planning new tools. Anonymous search records are kept for up to one year. Temporary files are deleted automatically, normally within one hour.
Children
This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use the opt-out links above, and ask us to delete any request you submitted with your email address by contacting us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
