About the Gold Price Calculator

Buying or selling jewellery? Enter today's 24-karat rate per tola, the weight and the purity to see what the gold is worth. Weight can be entered the traditional way — tola, masha and ratti — or in grams.

Making charges (as a percentage) can be added to check a jeweller's quote. Gold rates change several times a day, so always use the current rate from your jeweller or sarafa association.

How to use the Gold Price Calculator

  1. Enter today's 24K gold rate for one tola.
  2. Enter the weight in tola, masha and ratti — or in grams.
  3. Choose the purity and, optionally, making charges.
  4. Click Calculate value.

Formula

1 tola = 12 masha = 96 ratti = 11.664 grams.

Value = weight in tola × 24K rate × (karat ÷ 24). 22K is 91.67% pure, 21K is 87.5% and 18K is 75%.

Making charges = value × making %.

Examples

With an example 24K rate of Rs 300,000 per tola:

  • 2 tola 6 masha of 22K gold = 2.5 tola × 300,000 × 22/24 = Rs 687,500.
  • 10 grams of 24K gold = 0.8574 tola → Rs 257,206.

Frequently asked questions

Is a tola exactly 10 grams?

No. A traditional tola is 11.664 grams. Some markets quote prices per 10 grams instead — check which one your rate is for.

Why do jewellers deduct when buying back?

Jewellers often deduct for impurities, solder or stones and do not pay making charges back. Ask for the purity test result.
