About the JPG to WebP
WebP is a modern image format supported by all current browsers. At the same visual quality, WebP photos are typically 25–35% smaller than JPG, which makes websites load faster and can help page-speed scores.
Convert one photo or a whole batch, choose the quality and download the WebP files.
How to use the JPG to WebP
- Set the Quality (80–90% is ideal).
- Choose or drop your JPG images.
- Download each WebP image or click Download all.
How it works
Each JPG is decoded by your browser, drawn onto a canvas and re-encoded with the browser's WebP encoder at the quality you chose. Image dimensions do not change.
Examples
- A 1.2 MB 1920 × 1080 JPG at 85% → typically 700–900 KB WebP.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, on your own device. Your images are never sent to our server.
Does every browser support WebP?
All modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari 14+) can display WebP. Creating WebP needs Chrome, Edge or Firefox; some Safari versions cannot encode it.
