PDF Metadata Editor

View and edit a PDF's title, author, subject and keywords — or remove all hidden document information.

Runs in your browser — your data never leaves your device.

    About the PDF Metadata Editor

PDF files carry hidden information: a title, the author's name, the software used and the dates it was created and changed. This tool shows that information and lets you correct it — for example, a proper title shows up in browser tabs and search results.

Before sharing a document publicly, use Remove all metadata to delete names and software details for privacy.

How to use the PDF Metadata Editor

    1. Choose or drop a PDF.
    2. Edit the title, author, subject or keywords — or click Remove all metadata.
    3. The new PDF downloads automatically.

    How it works

The PDF's Info dictionary is edited with pdf-lib. Removing metadata deletes every Info entry and the XMP metadata stream in the document catalogue. Page content is not changed.

    Examples

    • A report titled “Microsoft Word - Document1” → title changed to “Annual Report 2026”.
    • A CV with the author “HP User” → metadata removed before uploading to job sites.

    Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to your server?

No. The PDF is opened and processed by your own browser. It never leaves your device, so it is safe for private documents.
