About the Social Media Image Resizer
Each platform crops pictures differently, and the wrong size means cut-off heads or blurry banners. Choose a preset and your image is resized to the exact pixel size the platform recommends.
Fill the frame crops the edges so the picture covers the whole area; Show whole image keeps everything and fills the gaps with a blurred copy of the photo or a plain colour — perfect for putting a landscape photo in a story.
How to use the Social Media Image Resizer
- Choose or drop an image.
- Pick the platform size.
- Choose how it should fit and which part to keep in the frame. Check the preview.
- Choose JPG or PNG and click Download.
How it works
Fill: scale = max(target width ÷ image width, target height ÷ image height) — the image covers the frame and the overflow is cropped. Whole image: scale = min(…) — the image fits inside and the background fills the rest. Images are drawn with high-quality smoothing on a canvas in your browser.
Examples
- A 4000 × 3000 phone photo → 1080 × 1080 Instagram square (sides cropped).
- The same photo → 1080 × 1920 story with a blurred background, nothing cut off.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, on your own device. Your images are never sent to our server.
Why does the platform still compress my image?
Social networks re-compress every upload. Starting from the exact recommended size gives the sharpest result they allow.
