Excel to CSV & JSON

Open Excel files (.xlsx, .xls, .ods) in the browser, preview sheets and export CSV or JSON.

Runs in your browser — your data never leaves your device.

About the Excel to CSV & JSON

View a spreadsheet without Excel, or turn a sheet into CSV for importing into another system or JSON for an app. Every sheet in the workbook is listed, the first 200 rows are previewed, and the download includes all rows.

CSV downloads include a marker that tells Excel the file is UTF-8, so Urdu and other languages open correctly.

How to use the Excel to CSV & JSON

    1. Choose or drop an .xlsx, .xls, .ods or .csv file.
    2. Pick the sheet and check the preview.
    3. Choose the delimiter or JSON shape, then download CSV or JSON.

    How it works

Files are read with SheetJS (Apache-2.0) entirely in your browser. Cell values are exported as displayed (dates and numbers formatted as in the sheet) for CSV, and as raw values for JSON objects keyed by the header row.

    Examples

    • A 5,000-row customer list in Excel → customers.csv for a bulk SMS service.
    • A price list sheet → JSON array of products for a website.

    Frequently asked questions

Is my data sent to your server?

No. Everything runs in your browser, on your own device. Nothing you type, paste or choose is uploaded or stored.

    Are formulas exported?

The calculated results are exported, not the formulas themselves.

    Can it open password-protected files?

No. Remove the password in Excel first.
