About the Passport Photo Maker
Make passport-size photos at home: choose the size, position your face in the guide and download either a single photo or a ready-to-print sheet. Take the sheet to any photo shop or print it yourself — the PDF is sized in millimetres, so each photo comes out at exactly the right size.
A 4 × 6 inch photo paper fits 6 photos of 35 × 45 mm; an A4 page fits 30. Always check the official requirements for your application (background colour, expression, glasses) — for example on the passport office or embassy website.
How to use the Passport Photo Maker
- Take a photo against a plain white or light wall, facing the camera, with even light.
- Choose or drop the photo.
- Pick the photo size, then drag and zoom so the face fits the oval guide (top of head near the top of the oval, chin on the line).
- Download a Print sheet (PDF) and print at Actual size / 100%, or download a Single photo (JPG) for online forms.
How it works
Photos are made at 300 DPI: 1 mm = 11.81 pixels, so 35 × 45 mm = 413 × 531 px and 2 × 2 in = 600 × 600 px. The print sheet is a PDF with the page set to the paper size in millimetres, so printers do not scale the photos (as long as scaling is off). Photos are spaced 3 mm apart with thin grey cut lines.
Examples
- Pakistan passport / CNIC / UK / Schengen visa: 35 × 45 mm — 6 photos on 4 × 6 in paper.
- USA visa: 2 × 2 in (51 × 51 mm) — 2 photos on 4 × 6 in paper, or 15 on A4.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The image is opened and edited in your browser and never leaves your device.
Can it change my background to white?
No. Background removal is not included, so take the photo against a plain white or light wall.
Will this photo be accepted?
The size will be correct, but acceptance also depends on lighting, expression, background and recent appearance. Check the official rules for your passport or visa before applying.
Why are my printed photos the wrong size?
The printer scaled the PDF. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” or 100% scale — not “Fit to page”.
