Remove Background

Remove a white or plain background from an image — transparent PNG for products, logos and signatures.

Works best when the background is one plain colour (a white wall, paper, a studio backdrop). Busy or patterned backgrounds need a different, AI-based method.

Runs in your browser — your data never leaves your device.

About the Remove Background

Remove plain backgrounds in seconds — a product photographed on a white sheet, a logo on a coloured box, a signature on paper, or a stamp. The background colour is detected automatically from the edges of the picture; click on the image to pick a different spot.

Save a transparent PNG for websites, Daraz and Instagram product listings, or put the subject on a new white or coloured background.

How to use the Remove Background

  1. Choose or drop the image.
  2. The background colour is picked from the edges. If something is left over, click on the background in the preview.
  3. Move Tolerance up until the background disappears, and Edge softness for smooth edges.
  4. Choose Transparent, White or a custom colour, then Download.

How it works

Every pixel's colour distance from the background colour is measured: d = √((R−R₀)² + (G−G₀)² + (B−B₀)²). Pixels within the tolerance become fully transparent, and pixels in the soft band become partly transparent for smooth edges. In the recommended mode only background that touches the edges is removed (a flood fill), so white parts inside the subject stay.

Examples

  • A shirt photographed on white bedsheet → transparent PNG for an online shop.
  • A blue pen signature on white paper → transparent PNG to place on documents (also try our Sign PDF tool).

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.

Can it remove a busy background, like a room or street?

Not well. This tool removes one plain colour. Busy backgrounds need AI-based removal, which we may add later.

Why are parts of my product disappearing?

The product contains colours close to the background. Lower the tolerance, or keep the mode on “Background touching the edges”.
