About the Word to PDF
Turn a Word document into a PDF without installing Office — applications, CVs, letters, assignments and notices. The document is opened in your browser, shown as a preview, and saved as a PDF through your browser's built-in Save as PDF.
Choose A4, Letter or Legal paper, the margins and the font. Because the file never leaves your device, it is safe for private documents.
How to use the Word to PDF
- Choose or drop a .docx file. (Old .doc files: open in Word and *Save As* .docx first.)
- Check the preview and pick the page size, margins and font.
- Click Save as PDF. In the print window choose Save as PDF (or *Microsoft Print to PDF*) as the printer, then Save.
How it works
The .docx file (a zip of XML) is read in the browser with the open-source Mammoth library and turned into clean HTML: headings, paragraphs, bold and italic, lists, tables, links and pictures. The browser's print engine then lays it out on real pages and writes the PDF. Complex Word layouts (text boxes, columns, headers and footers) are simplified.

Is my Word file uploaded?
No. It is converted by your own browser and never leaves your device.
Will the PDF look exactly like Word?
Text, headings, tables, lists and pictures are kept. Exact fonts, text boxes, page headers/footers and multi-column layouts can look different. For pixel-perfect output use Word's own File → Save As → PDF.
How do I save as PDF on a phone?
On Android Chrome the print window has a printer menu at the top — choose Save as PDF. On iPhone, use the share icon in the print preview and choose Save to Files.
Can it convert .doc files?
Only .docx. Open an old .doc file in Word or Google Docs and save it as .docx first.
