About the Prayer Times
See today's prayer times for your city — or use your phone's location — with the time left until the next prayer. Times for Pakistani cities use the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method with Hanafi Asr, as followed by most mosques in Pakistan. Gulf, UK and North American cities use their local methods automatically, and you can change the method and Asr calculation in the settings.
Show the whole month to see a timetable, and download it as a spreadsheet for printing. Local mosques may add a few minutes for precaution or announce slightly different times — follow your mosque for jama'at times.
How to use the Prayer Times
- Choose your city, or click Use my location.
- Read today's times — the next prayer is highlighted.
- Pick another date, or click Show this month for a timetable you can download.
Formula
Times are calculated from the sun's position for the city's latitude and longitude with the adhan library (MIT):
- Fajr / Isha: sun 18° below the horizon (Karachi method).
- Dhuhr: just after the sun passes its highest point.
- Asr (Hanafi): when an object's shadow is twice its length plus its noon shadow (Shafi: once).
- Maghrib: sunset.
Examples
- Lahore, 8 October 2026: Fajr 4:40 am, Sunrise 6:01 am, Dhuhr 11:51 am, Asr 3:59 pm (Hanafi), Maghrib 5:39 pm, Isha 7:00 pm.
- Karachi, same day: Maghrib 6:12 pm — later than Lahore because Karachi is further west.
Frequently asked questions
Why are the times slightly different from my mosque?
Mosques often add a few minutes for precaution, and some committees use slightly different angles. For congregation (jama'at) times, always follow your local mosque.
Is my location stored?
No. If you use “Use my location”, it is used only in your browser to calculate the times and is not sent to our server.
Which Asr should I choose?
Most people in Pakistan follow the Hanafi school, which gives a later Asr time. Shafi, Maliki and Hanbali schools use the earlier time.
