About the Color Converter
Designers, developers and printers use different colour codes for the same colour. Type a colour in any format — #0260A2, rgb(2, 96, 162), hsl(205, 98%, 32%) or simply 2, 96, 162 — and get all the other formats at once, ready to copy.
A row of tints (lighter) and shades (darker) helps you build a matching palette for buttons, backgrounds and borders.
How to use the Color Converter
- Type or paste a colour code, or click the colour swatch to pick one.
- All formats update instantly — click Copy next to the one you need.
- Click any tint or shade to copy its HEX code.
How it works
HEX is RGB written in base 16: #0260A2 → R 02 = 2, G 60 = 96, B A2 = 162.
HSL: lightness = (max + min) ÷ 2 of the RGB values (0–1); saturation and hue are derived from the difference between the largest and smallest channel.
CMYK: K = 1 − max(R, G, B); C = (1 − R − K) ÷ (1 − K), and similarly for M and Y. Screen-to-print conversion is approximate — printers use colour profiles.
Examples
#0260A2→rgb(2, 96, 162)→hsl(205, 98%, 32%)→cmyk(99%, 41%, 0%, 36%)#FFFFFF→rgb(255, 255, 255)→hsl(0, 0%, 100%)
Frequently asked questions
Are the CMYK values exact for printing?
They are a standard mathematical conversion. Real print colours depend on the printer, paper and colour profile, so ask your printer for a proof for important jobs.
Can I use 3-digit HEX codes?
Yes. #09C is read as #0099CC. The # sign is optional.
