Type Urdu online with your English keyboard (phonetic) or the on-screen keys — then copy anywhere.
Each English key types one Urdu letter; hold Shift for the second letter shown on the key. sh, kh, gh and zh make ش خ غ ژ. Short vowels are not written in Urdu, so type the letters you would write: pakstan → پاکستان, shkrio → شکریہ.

About the Urdu Keyboard
Write Urdu on any computer or phone — no Urdu keyboard needed. With phonetic typing, each English key types the Urdu letter that sounds like it: b → ب, p → پ, t → ت, s → س. Hold Shift for the second letter on a key (for example T → ٹ, S → ص) and type sh, kh, gh, zh for ش خ غ ژ.
Urdu punctuation (۔ ، ؟) and Urdu digits are supported. When you are done, copy the text into WhatsApp, Facebook, Word or anywhere else.
How to use the Urdu Keyboard
- Click in the box and type with your English keyboard — Urdu letters appear.
- Use the on-screen keys if you prefer, or to learn where letters are.
- Click Copy and paste your text anywhere.
How it works
Each key press is replaced by an Urdu letter from a phonetic layout similar to popular Urdu phonetic keyboards. When h follows س ک گ ز the pair becomes ش خ غ ژ. Short vowels are not written in Urdu, so type the letters you would write: pakstan → پاکستان.

Is my data sent to your server?
No. Everything runs in your browser, on your own device. Nothing you type, paste or choose is uploaded or stored.
Why does my text look different on another phone?
Urdu is shown with the fonts on each device. Some show Nastaliq (the traditional style) and others Naskh — the letters are the same.
